STORMIN' NORMAN

&

ENGL AMPLIFICATION

Norms first tried an Engl Amp when Elixir performed at the Headbangers Open Air Festival
in Germany, and was immediately impressed. It was the only amp that he had heard that sounded
better than the Marshall Triple Super Lead that he was using as his regular rig.
He wanted an Engl Amp ever since then, and after speaking to guitarist friend and Engl user, Ian Wilson, who testified to
how reliable and sturdy they are are on the road, looked into Engl further.

When Elixir shared the stage with Redline at the 2008 British Steel Festival, Norms had a lengthy chat with
A.D., Redline's guitarist, who also uses the 'Ritchie Blackmore' head.
Norms was impressed with the pedal board and general controls, and also the sound A.D. was getting from the amp.

So Norms visited Alan and Peter at Engl Amplification who were extremely
helpful in assisting Norms choose the right amp for his 'Classic Metal' sound.

Norms tried the 'Powerball' and 'Ritchie Blackmore' models in a band rehearsal situation and after giving both amps a thorough workout,
decided that the 'Ritchie Blackmore' 100 watt model gave him the perfect sound that he was looking for.
He teamed this with the Engl angled top cab.

Norms used his new rig at the Sold-out Clive Aid event at the legendary Ruskin Arms in London, and was delighted
with his new sound, and judging by the reaction, so was the audience!

Norms has found that his vintage Gibson Flying V really cuts through
and 'sings' through his Engl amp, so he is bringing his Flying V back into service,
and a welcome sight it is too!
